Meet The Team
Stewart Wells – Director
Stewart founded Daking Designs Ltd in 2017, driven by a passion for creating thoughtful, functional spaces. What began as a side project—working evenings and weekends alongside a full-time job—quickly grew into a full-time business and the start of the Daking journey.
After graduating from university, Stewart immersed himself in the world of construction, gaining hands-on experience by shadowing a chartered surveyor and working within several well-regarded architectural practices across Suffolk. These early roles helped shape his practical, down-to-earth approach to design—ensuring every space not only looks great but genuinely works for the people living in it.
Outside of the studio, Stewart is Chairman of his local cricket club and a long-suffering Tottenham Hotspur fan (someone has to be!).

Emily Wells – Director
Emily works alongside her husband, Stewart, combining their skills and shared passion for residential architecture to help homeowners bring their ideas to life.
Before Emily jumped into the architecture world she worked in the banking sector for over 10 years working in Sudbury, Ipswich and Colchester.
As Director, Emily oversees the day-to-day operations of the business, with a focus on general administration and client support. Often the first point of contact, she plays a key role in keeping projects running smoothly—from managing enquiries and scheduling appointments to assisting with the design process and ensuring everything stays organised behind the scenes.
With a strong emphasis on communication and care, Emily takes pride in offering a personal, approachable experience to every client who works with Daking Designs.
Outside of the business, Emily enjoys spending time with her family, exploring the beautiful Suffolk countryside, and getting stuck into home improvement projects of her own.
