Do you know you can increase the size of your property without the need for formal planning permission?
This is called ‘Permitted Development’ and you can in certain circumstances, add rear and side extensions, a loft extension, an outbuilding or a garage conversion, all without the need to go through the whole planning process.

We always recommend contacting your local council to check your property has permitted development rights.
Once its been confirmed that you have permitted development rights and as long as the development is within the parameters listed on the planning portal you can start to build!

We recommend applying for a Certificate of Lawful Development before any works commence. Certificates of Lawful Development provide necessary evidence that any works being undertaken are lawful/not requiring planning permission.
